Music Production FAQs
What if I’m not satisfied.
I let you hear each step of the production and get your approval before moving to the next step. If you wish to terminate the process for any reason, I will refund your money in full for any step that you didn’t approve.
Who owns the copyrights to the track?
You do, assuming it’s your original work. I record tracks on a work-for-hire basis. This means that by the end of the process, you own all of the rights to the recording.
Alterations and further edits?
You’re the boss. I will send you an MP3 preview after each instrument has been recorded for your approval. You get one free modification for each instrument. After your approval additional modifications are only $25 each.
If an additional take of an instrument is required, a fee of $75 will be charged. An additional take is required when you ask for a different tempo, have new references tracks to work to, or wish to re-record the track from scratch.
Can I get a professional singer to sing my song?
Yes! You can either have a professional singer email me his/her track as a .wav file and I can import that track into your project or otherwise I can record a singer from my home studio.
What is your turn around time?
We are highly attentive to the details of your song. We prefer to deliver a better sounding result than to rush. First mix is sent within 3-5 days depending on the complexity of your project.
Can you provide a chord chart of my song?
Sure can. Please contact me to discuss your exact needs.
Which file format should I send you?
Please send your consolidated and properly labelled WAV or AIFF files in a consistent bit depth and sample rate. A commonly used format is 44 or 48 kHz, 24 bit. Make sure all of your tracks start from the same point and are exactly of same length.
How do I send my tracks to you?
The simpliest way to send your files is to use a cloud storage service such as Dropbox, Hightail or Google Drive. The mixes are sent back via Dropbox link.
Should I keep the effects/plugins on the tracks I send you?
If you used any effects during your tracking/production stage, please send these tracks with and without the effects. We will validate these and either use them straight away, or reproduce the effects separately.
How much does it cost for you to produce / mix my song?
Every project is different and requires different amount of work. Please get in touch and we will discuss the best way to approach your project considering your budget and desired result.
How can I pay you?
Cash or via an EFT in my bank account. There is also an option to use SoundBetter as a payment platform, since it is secure and straightforward in use.
